सेना, प्रशासन, राजनीति और न्यायपालिका से जुड़े लोगों ने साझा किए संस्मरण

देहरादून। पूर्व राज्यपाल एवं सेवानिवृत्त लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल मदन मोहन लखेड़ा की स्मृति में शुक्रवार को देहरादून के टाउन हॉल में श्रद्धांजलि सभा आयोजित की गई।
इसमें सेना, राजनीति, न्यायपालिका, प्रशासन, पत्रकारिता और विभिन्न क्षेत्रों के गणमान्य लोगों ने उन्हें भावभीनी श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की तथा उनके राष्ट्रसेवा के योगदान को याद किया।
श्रद्धांजलि सभा की शुरुआत दिवंगत आत्मा की शांति के लिए प्रार्थना से हुई।

इसके बाद परिजनों, पूर्व सहयोगियों, मित्रों और शुभचिंतकों ने पुष्पांजलि अर्पित कर शोकाकुल परिवार के प्रति संवेदना व्यक्त की।
वक्ताओं ने कहा कि लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल लखेड़ा एक उत्कृष्ट सैनिक, कुशल प्रशासक और उच्च नैतिक मूल्यों वाले व्यक्तित्व थे। उन्होंने भारतीय सेना में उल्लेखनीय सेवाएं दीं और बाद में मिजोरम के राज्यपाल तथा पुडुचेरी एवं अंडमान-निकोबार द्वीप समूह के उपराज्यपाल के रूप में संवैधानिक जिम्मेदारियों का सफलतापूर्वक निर्वहन किया।

उनके सैन्य नेतृत्व, प्रशासनिक क्षमता और राष्ट्र के प्रति समर्पण को श्रद्धापूर्वक स्मरण किया गया।
श्रद्धांजलि संदेश लोकसभा अध्यक्ष ओम बिरला, कांग्रेस संसदीय दल की अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी, पूर्व थल सेनाध्यक्ष जनरल विश्वनाथ शर्मा, मिजोरम के राज्यपाल जनरल (डॉ.) विजय कुमार सिंह, पुडुचेरी के उपराज्यपाल के. कैलाशनाथन तथा मुख्यमंत्री एन. रंगासामी ने भेजे। अंडमान-निकोबार में उनके कार्यकाल के दौरान मुख्य सचिव रहे डी.एस. नेगी ने भी शोक संदेश प्रेषित किया। इसके अलावा अनेक गणमान्य व्यक्तियों ने डाक, व्हाट्सऐप और सोशल मीडिया के माध्यम से अपनी संवेदनाएं व्यक्त कीं।

कार्यक्रम में अलका कुकरेती ने स्वागत भाषण दिया। पत्रकार उमाकांत लखेड़ा, उनकी पुत्रियां अर्चना पब्बाराजू और डॉ. अनुपमा लखेड़ा, कर्नल गौरव सिंह, वरिष्ठ अधिवक्ता एवं मिजोरम के महाधिवक्ता बिस्वजीत देब, वरिष्ठ अधिवक्ता बी.पी. नौटियाल, कर्नल (डॉ.) डी.पी. डिमरी, अखिल भारतीय कांग्रेस कमेटी के विचार विभाग के अध्यक्ष प्रवीण दावर, कर्नल डी.बी. थापा, पत्रकार हरीश चंद्र लखेड़ा, कैप्टन एस. रवि तथा उत्तराखंड के पूर्व पुलिस महानिदेशक अनिल रतूड़ी ने अपने संस्मरण साझा किए।

लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल लखेड़ा के पौत्र डॉ. अतुल्य आनंद ने नाती-पोतों की ओर से श्रद्धांजलि संदेश पढ़ा। श्रद्धांजलि सभा में लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल टी.पी.एस. रावत, लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल जयवीर नेगी, मेजर जनरल एम.एल. असवाल, मेजर जनरल ओ.पी. सोनी, पूर्व डीआईजी दिनेश भट्ट सहित बड़ी संख्या में सेवानिवृत्त वरिष्ठ सैन्य अधिकारी उपस्थित रहे।
सभा के अंत में वक्ताओं ने कहा कि लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल मदन मोहन लखेड़ा का राष्ट्रप्रेम, अनुशासन, कर्तव्यनिष्ठा और निस्वार्थ सेवा का आदर्श आने वाली पीढ़ियों को निरंतर प्रेरित करता रहेगा।

Dehradun Pays Rich Tribute to Lt Gen M.M. Lakhera at Condolence Meeting

Dehradun, July 10, 2026: Eminent personalities from the armed forces, politics, judiciary, civil services, journalism and other walks of life paid rich tributes to Lt Gen Madan Mohan Lakhera (Retd.) at a condolence meeting held at Town Hall here on Friday.

Lt Gen Lakhera, a decorated Army officer, had served as Governor of Mizoram and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The prayer meeting began with prayers for the eternal peace of the departed soul. Family members, former colleagues, friends and admirers offered floral tributes and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.

Speakers remembered Lt Gen Lakhera as an outstanding soldier, distinguished administrator and a gentleman known for his integrity, humility and unwavering commitment to the nation. His exemplary military career, leadership during crucial assignments and contributions in constitutional offices were fondly recalled.

Condolence messages were received from Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, former Army Chief General Vishwa Nath Sharma, Mizoram Governor General (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh, Puducherry Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan and Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangasamy.

Former senior civil servant D.S. Negi, who served as Chief Secretary during Lt Gen Lakhera’s tenure in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, also conveyed his condolences. Several other dignitaries sent messages through post, WhatsApp and social media.

Alka Kukreti delivered the welcome address. Among those who spoke were journalist Umakant Lakhera; Lt Gen Lakhera’s daughters Archana Pabbaraju and Dr Anupama Lakhera; Col Gaurav Singh, SC, SM; senior lawyer and Mizoram Advocate General Biswajit Deb; senior advocate B.P. Nautiyal; Col (Dr.) D.P. Dimri; AICC Vichar Vibhag Chairperson Praveen Davar; Col D.B. Thapa; journalist Harish Chandra Lakhera; Capt S. Ravi; and former Uttarakhand DGP Anil Raturi.

Dr Atulya Anand, grandson of Lt Gen Lakhera, read a message on behalf of the grandchildren.

Lt Gen T.P.S. Rawat (Retd.), Lt Gen Jaiveer Negi, Maj Gen M.L. Aswal (Retd.), Maj Gen O.P. Soni, VSM (Retd.), former DIG Dinesh Bhatt and several senior retired Army officers attended the meeting.

Speakers said Lt Gen Lakhera’s legacy of patriotism, discipline and selfless service would continue to inspire future generations.
